What follows is a list of some of the hardware that I think is worth of a special mention. It is all hardware I've used personally or professionally.

FX5620

A compact embedded system based around the VIA EDEN CPU, provides 6 RJ45 ports and runs from CF or a 2.5" hard disk. Makes a very good SOHO firewall, particularly when used with pfSense. Should be good for speeds of up to about 40 to 50 Mb/s.
