Gadgets

A list of some of the gadgets that I like.

Nikon
I have a Nikon D300s, D80 and an old F50, along with a small but growing collection of lenses. The D300s is a fantastic camera, more than addressing every concern I had with the D80.

Archos 705
The Archos 705 WiFi is a very useful device. It is a portable video player for keeping small children entertained during long trips. It also allows you to upload photos directly from most digital cameras and even natively supports a number of RAW formats, including Nikon's NEF format.

HTC
I used to be a huge fan of Nokia having had Nokia mobile phone since the days of the Nokia 2110. I still like the fact that they work reliably and the interface is intuitive and consistent across the range.

However I then tried an HTC Desire, then got one of my own. I'm not likely to go back to the Symbian platform in a hurry, or even Nokia. The Desire is a good phone (but starting to look old now) but it's the interface and apps that really makes it work.

Squeezebox
As music players go, this one has a lot going for it. You can link the players together so they all play the same music. You can extend the functionality through plugins and they do a range of players to suit different requirements (including the Boom, which makes a brilliant alarm clock).
